Why we're closing out the run
In 2020 we printed a few boxes of shirts that said what everyone was thinking. "Well America, it was a good run." "Is this real life?" "Who censors the censors?" "Welcome to World 2.0." We also made an orange soda with a bad attitude. The soda sold out in a few months. The shirts did not.
Six years later the shirts are still true, still funny, and still in a bag in a closet in Van Nuys. Meanwhile the store that sold them cost more per month than it earned per year, so we built our own: no platform, no subscription, no algorithm. Just shirts and a checkout.
We are not reprinting these. The number next to each size is the actual number in the bag. When it says 2, there are 2. When it's gone, it's gone, and whatever is left on January 30 goes to a thrift shop, where it will confuse someone in 2031.
After that, new designs, printed one at a time, only when someone orders one. Which, in retrospect, is how we should have done it the first time.
